Common Good Core Resources

Common Good Resources Philosophy

The Common Good Services described here are the information technology solutions, networks, systems, storage, and computing resources that are beneficial and critical for teaching, research, service, and administration. These services are provided for all members of the Oakland University community. There is a general expectation that these critical services are always on and available. These resources are not customized or specialized for a department, but are the basic infrastructure services that research university constituents and communities expect to be available for the entire community. Providing these resources and services with high quality and reliability is our highest priority.

Oakland University is committed to enabling equally effective access to public information through information technologies, web pages, web-based applications, databases, services, and resources.  Oakland University has adopted widely accepted best practices, accessibility standards, and accessibility guidelines to enable compliance with federal laws and regulations.  Accessibility and compliance with Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act is a core component of Common Good Services.
