Education Accreditation

The School of Education and Human Services received a seven-year accreditation from Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on October 23, 2013. TEAC merged with the NCATE accreditation group to form a new organization, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and became operational in July 2013. CAEP's last visit to Oakland University's School of Education and Human Services was March 2020.

CAEP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is currently going through the process for recognition by the U.S. Department of Education.

 The Oakland University-Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). MICHIGAN STATE BOARD OF NURSING – pre-licensure (Baccalaureate) programs also require approval by the State Board of Nursing. We received that approval in 2015, which is good until our next CCNE visit in (Spring 2022.)
