What is AES?

The Academic Empowerment Series (AES) is a 10 module series in e-Space with knowledge to empower students to be successful.  Each module is approximately 20-25 minutes long, with a short quiz at the end to pass (4/5 or 5/5) and earn a badge.

All students start with module 1, "Design Your Own Life Plan", that has students explore what motivates them.  Complete the quiz, earning a score of 4/5 or 5/5 and then the other 9 modules will be opened to the student.

Completion

We are here for you and had you in mind when the AES was created!

Course completion depends on a student’s academic status (good standing, probation, dismissal, readmitted).

  1. AES is a required stipulation for students who either submitted an academic dismissal appeal OR have been readmitted. These students are required to complete specific AES modules within a specific time frame of being enrolled in the AES.
  2. AES is strongly advised for students who are on either academic probation or continued probation (overall GPA is below 2.0). It is recommended to complete the AES at the beginning of the semester to then adapt and prevail in your classes!
  3. AES is encouraged for students who are in good standing (overall GPA of 2.0 or higher) who want to do even better in their academics. Also recommended to complete at the beginning of the semester or in the middle to be reignited and finish strong!

Students who successfully complete ALL ten modules will earn a badge, and receive an Academic Empowerment Kit from the Office of Student Success. This kit has a retail value of $25!
