Taking a step toward a trans inclusive campus, Oakland University will host a guest lecture with transgender community educator Ryan K. Sallans to talk about trans awareness and education. This lecture is open to the entire campus community.

Sallans is a public speaker, diversity trainer, consultant, and author specializing in health care, campus inclusion and workplace issues impacting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) community.

Sallans is also available on Friday, Oct. 28 to meet with interested faculty, students or classes. Please contact Dr. Jo Reger at reger@oakland.edu for information on his schedule.

Sallans’ visit is part of a campuswide initiative by the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) advisory board to promote transgender awareness and education. His visit is funded bv the Office of the Provost and supported by the College of Arts and Science and the college theme of Unity in Diversity, the Gender and Sexuality Center and the Women and Gender Studies program.
