The PSA Office wishes to highlight the Dove Academy Principal, Eshaun Caine.

What are you most excited about this school year?
I’m excited about returning to school in person! We have been isolated for so long and learning gaps have widened tremendously. It’s time to regain our focus by taking ownership of our education. The first day of school was simply AMAZING. Our scholars have grown so tall; I felt as though I shrunk a few inches (smile). I’m also excited to work with new administrative staff (assistant principal, 2-instructional coaches, 1-literacy coach); along with several new instructional and support staff members. I’m expecting this school year to soar!

What is the one thing you enjoy most about your new role?
I enjoy interacting with all stakeholders in the building. As an instructional coach, I coached teachers in 4th-8th grade; therefore, my interactions with students and Pre-K-3rd grade were limited. I’m able to participate in all aspects of Dove Academy.

When not in school what do you do to practice self-care?
My son is home for a while, so he actually has me exercising at a gym. I have to admit, both of my sons are/were collegiate athletes, unlike me, I rarely exercise. So we exercise approximately five times weekly. It makes me feel energetic and more conscientious of my health. I’ve always wanted to learn a second language. I started a foreign language app, Duolingo a few years ago. I completed the Arabic language plan, then moved on to Spanish; I love Spanish! As of today, I’m on day 812! I plan to explore Podcasts.

What is your WHY in your new role?
The supportive community of Dove Nation fuels my drive in this awesome school where everyone can learn and grow…”A world where everyone soars.” I love that Dove is a small, tight-knitted school. Everyone knows each other, parents are former students and it’s simply welcoming. Relationships are strong and valued.
