DAAS Choir

The choir of the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences is sidelined from their usual heavy schedule of performances by the Coronavirus. The nationally recognized choir is accustomed to performing for live audiences and making celebrated videos, usually about the city they love, Detroit.

But early on in the school shutdown, they were given a unique opportunity to let their talents shine, when the Detroit Tigers approached them. With the Tigers’ March 30th Opening Day cancelled, the team still wanted to acknowledge this traditionally special day and turned to DAAS choir director, Angela Kee to help get out their message of hope and togetherness despite not being able to be together in person. The result was a memorable and uplifting version of ‘God Bless America.’
