Paul Ezel, Vice Principal and Lead Mentor Teacher at Dove Academy of Detroit, completed the Oakland University Master’s Program in Teacher Leadership in May 2019.

“It provided the training and tools essential to leading in today's diverse and ever-changing educational environment. I was given opportunities to design lessons and Professional Learning for my staff as well as complete action research on the campus of Dove Academy--one of Oakland Universities esteemed Public School Academies,” said Ezel, “I had the opportunity to learn about self-care and design protocols which meet the many needs of my colleagues and students scholars, as well as harness the power of technology to present, collaborate, and prepare my staff to deliver high-quality instruction. OU's Teacher Leadership Master's Program also afforded me many chances to present to diverse audiences, network and collaborate with motivated, like-minded leaders, and practice my presentation skills.”

“The Dove Family is very proud of Paul's recent accomplishment of obtaining his Master's degree. Paul is not your average Dove employee. Paul is a part of the history of Dove Academy spending more than a decade at Dove serving as a teacher, teacher leader, dean and now Vice Principal,” said Lisa Key, Area Superintendent for Choice Schools, “Being the humble person that he is, Paul never takes credit for his contributions to DoveNation. However, it is hard to put into words the value that Paul adds to the DoveNation, both personally and professionally.”
