OU Recreation Center offers free summer memberships for continuing students

As part of an effort to help students achieve greater physical, mental and emotional well-being, OU’s Department of Recreation and Well-Being is offering continuing students free summer access to the Recreation Center on campus.

“By waiving the $100 cost for continuing students, this is a major action towards the vision of President Pescovitz of being the healthiest campus in Michigan,” said Becky Lewis, associate director in the Department of Recreation and Well-Being.

Summer memberships last through August 29, 2021 and include access to renovated indoor and outdoor facilities, an aquatic center and unlimited group exercise classes.

To qualify for a free summer membership, students must either be enrolled in a summer class, or have been enrolled at OU in winter 2021 and be registered for classes in fall 2021.

OU students meeting these qualifications will be automatically assigned OU Recreation Center summer memberships. Non-OU Students and recent graduates (those who graduated in December 2020 or April 2021) get 25% off summer memberships, meaning their cost is only $75.

In addition, anyone 18 years of age and older may purchase a guest pass for $10, which is good all day on the date of purchase, or a community membership. Memberships may be purchased or renewed at the OU Recreation Center or on our Rec Portal at myrecwell.oakland.edu.
