President Ora Hirsch Pescovitz and Dr. Daniel Walsh traveled to Rockville Centre, New York on Thursday to attend the inauguration of Molloy College President James Lentini, who served as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at Oakland University from 2013 until June of 2020.

“It was especially important for us to be with President Lentini on his inauguration day,” said OU President Pescovitz, who was among the featured speakers at the inauguration.

“Jim’s dedication, vision and leadership left an indelible mark at Oakland University, and he is forever a cherished member of the OU community,” she said.

President Pescovitz noted that Lentini’s accomplishments include student success initiatives, expansion of academic programs and restructuring of departments that improved efficiency. She also credited him for leading Oakland to an R2 Carnegie status, overseeing the university’s master plan and pushing for a comprehensive student enrollment strategy.

Lentini is the seventh president of Molloy College, a private Catholic college with more than 50 academic undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs. The college has approximately 5,000 students.
