OU to host panel discussion on marijuana legalization Feb. 11
Marijuana Legalization Panel

Join the Oakland University Center for Civic Engagement for a conversation about how Michigan moves forward after the legalization of recreational marijuana. 

The event will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. on Monday, February 11, in the Oakland Center Founders Ball Rooms C and D. A panel of experts from the Michigan Legislature, health care, law enforcement and other areas will convene for a conversation around many important questions and issues about what legalization means for the state and its citizens.

The panelists are: 

  • Chief James Berlin (Ret.), Chair, Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police Marijuana Committee
  • Margeaux Bruner, Director of Outreach and Strategy, Michigan Cannabis Industry Association
  • Anthony Drautz, Administrator of Environmental Health, Oakland County Health Division
  • Russell Faust, Medical Director, Oakland County Health Division
  • Senator Peter J. Lucido, Chair, Michigan Senate Judiciary and Public Safety Committee
  • Scott Masi, President, Unite to Face Addiction Michigan
  • Chief Scott Underwood, Waterford Police Department
