Intranet LaunchUniversity Communications and Marketing is proud to announce the launch of the newly developed Oakland University Intranet.

The primary objective of developing this secured digital platform was to build a repository for faculty and staff resources, while also focusing on ease of use, aesthetics, simplifying content and decreasing ADA vulnerability on the university's internet site, www.oakland.edu.

The newly released intranet also allows faculty and staff to host page content and archived PDFs, text documents, spreadsheets and other digital assets. Special thanks to Evan Zusy, Gregg Phelps and Lauryn Roycraft and to UTS for their efforts in making this possible.

The content management system for the intranet is Percussion, the same content management system used for OU's internet site. It, too, offers sections with left hand navigation, tabs and dropdown menus to help organize the faculty and staff resources that each section offers.

University divisions, units, departments and offices are encouraged to participate in continuing development of the intranet. Those interested in adding sections and migrating content currently hosted on the university's internet site should complete the Intranet Section Request Form. UCM Account Managers are available to assist with this process.

In the interest of migrating all appropriate web content from the internet to the intranet, Account Managers will eventually reach out to web section content managers who have not already initiated this process.
