The Oakland University AP Assembly is currently seeking nominations for the 2016 Outstanding Administrative Professional Award.

This honor, commonly called the AP of the Year, was established in 1984 to recognize the contributions of the Administrative Professional community.

Each year, a selection committee representing a broad section of campus selects one AP who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in his or her professional role. Oakland University provides a $1,500 stipend to accompany this honor.

The AP Assembly invites all members of the Oakland University Community to submit nominations for this distinction. Those interested in doing so should review the following criteria information:

Extraordinary Effort in Support of OU's Institutional Mission and Strategic Plan

  • Demonstrates exceptional initiative in completing job responsibilities, or takes on greater responsibility than is required. Conducts professional responsibilities effectively and efficiently and in support of the university’s mission and strategic plan.

Spirit of Cooperation

  • This person’s collaborative efforts have resulted in accomplishment of individual, departmental or university goals.

Community and University Service

  • Initiates or participates in non-job-related activities within the university and/or external community which enhance the university’s image and advance its missions. Such participation may include the AP Assembly, the Annual University Fund Drive, professional organizations or volunteer services, among other activities.

Faculty and staff members with questions regarding the nomination process should contact Nancy Schmitz, chair of the 2017 Outstanding AP Selection Committee, by email at [email protected].

All nominations must be submitted electronically by Monday, April 3, 2017. The nomination form can be downloaded here.
