Lynda Misra

Dr. Misra is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Clinical Education at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and also serves as Director of Students at Beaumont Health System. She was Chair of Admissions from 2010 to 2011 at the OUWB School of Medicine. Dr. Misra received her medical degree from Michigan State University and completed her residency training and chief resident year at Beaumont Health System. She has been a member of the academic faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Beaumont Health System for the past 15 years, and has been Director of Medical Students there since 2004. Dr. Misra completed her Masters in Higher Education with emphasis on curricular design, instructional methods, techniques in professional education and educational research at the University of Michigan in 2010.

Dr. Misra has been a staff physician at Beaumont Health System since 1997. Her many roles include Associate Medical Director for the Beaumont Employee Health Plan at Beaumont Health System. Dr. Misra has received various teaching awards including the Raymond H. Murray Governor’s Award and Outstanding Performance as Teacher of Internal Medicine at the Beaumont Health System in 2002, 2007 and 2008.

Dr. Misra is editor of Internal Medicine Essentials for Students, A Companion to MKSAP for Students 5. The textbook is a collaborative project of the American College of Physicians and the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine, the organization responsible for teaching internal medicine to medical students. This guide shows students how to care for patients, prepare for clinical rounds, and study for the end of rotation examination.
