Keith Engwall

Mr. Engwall joined the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in July 2012 as Web and Emerging Technologies Librarian. He serves on the Department of Biomedical Sciences Research Committee, the Mentoring Policy Committee and Course/Faculty and Student Evaluations Policy Review Task Force. He is also the Faculty Advisor for the Child’s Play Fundraiser hosted by the student Pediatrics Interest Group. He serves on the Oakland University Library Technologies Team, Online User Interface Team, Integrated Systems and Data Team, Information Literacy Group, Integrated Library System Investigation Task Force, and the Electronic Resource Management Selection Task Force.

Mr. Engwall is a member of the Planning and Nomination Committees for the Metropolitan Detroit Medical Libraries Group (MDMLG), the Education Media and Technology Section of the Medical Library Association (MLA), a MLA Systematic Review Team, and is the co-convener of the MLA New Members Special Interest Group. Mr. Engwall was nominated to serve as President-Elect of the Michigan Health Science Libraries Association (MHSLA) for 2014.

Previously, Mr. Engwall served as the Head of Library Systems and Technology at Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. Mr. Engwall received his MSLIS from the University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science in 1995.

Mr. Engwall's interests focus on social media in healthcare, mobile technology in education, data security and collaborative tools in healthcare research. He leverages his experience in web design, programming and technology to explore, implement and design solutions to meet the needs of the library, the OUWB School of Medicine and the community.
