Aksha M. Memon, M.D., MPH

Aksha MemonAksha Memon joined OUWB in December 2020. She received her medical degree from India in 2005 followed by a graduate degree in Pharmacology in 2009. She is an ECFMG certified foreign medical graduate with qualified USMLE step 3. She received her MPH majoring in Epidemiology from UTHealth School of Public Health, Houston, TX. Prior to joining OUWB, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at West Virginia University Health Sciences Center, Morgantown, WV where she taught pharmacology to medical, dental, physician assistant and exercise physiology students. She served as the course director for the physician assistant course and co-director for dental pharmacology courses.

Before coming to the U.S., she served as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at Dubai Medical College for Girls in Dubai, UAE, where she was the course director for respiratory system module and an academic advisor and research mentor for her students. During her time as a graduate student at UTHealth, she authored/co-authored two research articles and three poster abstracts. At OUWB, she is planning to conduct medical education research focusing on generation Z learners and the impact of social media on medical education.
