Bone Marrow Donor Registration Drive - The Medical School Challenge 2021

Help OUWB defend its championship title for registering the most potential donors on the Be The Match registry among participating medical schools in Michigan.

The 10th annual drive - a virtual challenge again this year - will occur through Nov. 15, the due date for kits to be returned through the mail. Adults between the ages of 18 and 44, can sign up for the registry by texting OUWB21 to 61474 to request a swab kit, or use our unique URL. Upon receiving the kit in the mail, follow the instructions for collecting a sample of cells by swabbing the inside of your cheek.

The sample is used to compare, and ideally match up, specific protein markers with patients who need a bone marrow transplant.
