Where You
Will Be

With around 55,000 students, Münster is the third largest university city and one of the most popular places to study in Germany. Young people set their stamp on the rhythm of life in Münster and create a special, lively atmosphere. The bicycle is the most important means of transport in Münster and has long been a symbol for this environmentally conscious city.

The picturesque, historical center of the 1,200-year-old city with its many churches and museums also offers delightful contrasts to the many examples of modern architecture. The Promenade, which surrounds the entire city center, the many parks and the Aasee Lake are ideal for relaxing outdoors. City festivals, music festivals, art exhibitions, flea markets: there is always something going on, and the many visitors from all over the world can look forward to a warm and open welcome.

On the weekend, you can take a trip into the lovely countryside around Münster or visit one of the nearby nature conservation areas or one of the over 100 moated castles of the Münsterland. And if you wish to go further afield, you can be in Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin or Amsterdam in only a few hours by train.

By air, Münster can be easily reached via Münster-Osnabrück Airport or the airports in Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.

Students will live in apartment-style accommodations with a private room, shared with 1 - 3   international students. Alternative accommodation arrangements are available. Included in the price, students receive a cafeteria pass for lunch Monday through Friday at one of the University of Münster's cafeterias (Mensa). For 49 Euros (approx. $56) students are able to purchase a one-month bus ticket they will receive on their first day of orientation at the Kapito Language Institute.

What You
Will Do
and learn

In addition to classes, the school also offers an attractive program of cultural and social activities which is organized and accompanied by our leisure assistant: a guided tour of the city, cycle tours, film shows, excursions, museum visits, pub tours, sports, a farewell dinner and much more. All of which ensures a relaxed atmosphere and makes your stay in Münster an eventful and stimulating experience. This culture and social program is included in the course price.

KAPITO also offers regular weekend trips to Cologne, Hamburg or other cities. The school has prepared sightseeing program for these trips, which are also accompanied by a guide from KAPITO. The KAPITO leisure service provides up-to-date information on events and activities that the students can undertake by themselves. The most popular leisure pursuits in Münster include riding, sailing and golf. These additional activities are, however, not included in the course price.

The classes are small and made up of people from various countries, and the emphasis is always on the practical use of language, i.e. on the participants' ability to speak and understand. In the afternoon, students will converse in the target language and learn how to compose essays.

Each group is taught by two tutors, and the most important thing is that from the very first lesson, the teaching language is German. Students will receive 12 credit hours for participating in the 8-week program.

What To

Clothing: A detailed clothing list will be provided.  In general, students should bring clothing for very warm weather. Casual wear is fine for the classroom, beach wear is fine for weekends, and some professional clothing will be required on excursions.

Equipment: Specifics of equipment will be provided at a later date, but students will be asked to bring personal electronics such as a laptop, smartphone, lightweight tripod and a pocket-sized audio recorder.
