The Honor’s College at Oakland University is a regional HUB for Invention Convention Michigan (sponsored by The Henry Ford). Under the direction of an educator, any child in grades 3-12 can participate in Invention Convention Michigan. Qualifying students will be invited to complete among their peers across the state at a Regional fair (organized by each HUB) in late February/early March. Invention Convention Michigan judging takes place in late April and the U.S. National (hosted by The Henry Ford) sometime in June.
Participating students must:
- Be in grades 3-12
- Compete at their Regional Invention Fair organized by the regional hub.
- Be nominated by a hub or school to compete at Invention Convention Michigan.
- Compete as an individual or on a team of up to four members. Teams compete against individuals and vice versa.
Students will need to develop an invention that solves a problem in their life, the life of a loved one or their world. Students will develop, test and then pitch their project at the convention. Students who compete at Invention Convention Michigan will be invited to Invention Convention U.S. Nationals.
Educators/Administrators, who wish to start the onboarding process should contact The Henry Ford at https://inhub.thehenryford.org/icw/michigan/contact_us
