Beth Benson

Beth Benson recently retired from a 34-year career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. In her most recent leadership role, she was responsible for coordinating staffing for the 1600-member Service Operations group, and developing a $156M budget, in direct support of the VP Office. Over the past few years she has helped dozens of OU students find summer internships at the state's largest insurance company.

Presently serving as the Immediate Past Chair of the Oakland University Alumni Association, Beth has been a member of that board since 2003. A tireless supporter of Oakland, she has served on countless committees, shared her experiences with students, and supported many events at OU.

Beth holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Oakland University, and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She and her husband Gary Brancaleone, also an SBA alum, are members of the OU President's Club, Matilda R Wilson Society, Black & Gold Loyalty Society and the Golden Grizzlies Champions Club. The couple are recipients of the Oakland University Alumni Association Spirit Award and the Oakland Athletics Community Service Award, and were recognized as Oakland's honorees at the Distinguished Volunteer AFP Awards in 2007. Beth is an avid fan of the Golden Grizzlies, and she and her husband have been season tickets holders for the basketball programs for 20 years.
