U-LINK Detroit

Purpose Statement:
The Universities Link Detroit (U-LINK Detroit) is comprised of Government & Community Relations Executives of the public universities having a physical presence within the City of Detroit.

Its purpose is to drive a Public University Community Relations Strategy that creates a sense of access to each U-LINK institution, to pursue collaborative involvement in public policy and economic issues related to Detroit and the region, and to ensure awareness of U-LINK institution’s research and programmatic contributions to the city of Detroit.

This will be accomplished by:

Leveraging U-LINK’s influence by bridging the campus community with the local community on issues that affect city of Detroit stakeholders, constituents and University stakeholders.

Increasing access to & visibility of U-LINK institutions, their areas of focus, and ways in which U-LINK efforts have a positive impact within the communities we serve.

Position itself as the network of University Community Relations within the community of Detroit.

Collaboratively promote the value of public Universities as knowledge-based institutions.

U-LINK public universities that have a physical presence within the city of Detroit are Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Oakland University and Wayne State University.
