Summer Aid

Eligibility Information

Students might be eligible to receive financial aid for the summer semester.  Since most financial aid is awarded for the fall and winter semesters, aid for summer is limited and eligibility depends on what was received in the previous fall and winter. Students who have not already done so, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current academic year. Oakland University Student Financial Services must have a 2020-2021 FAFSA on file before June 30, 2021 or two weeks before the student's last summer session ends, whichever is earlier.
Summer financial aid packages will be available to view on the Award Overview tab on MySAIL beginning March 1.

Students must be admitted into an eligible degree program, certificate program, or a degree preparation program to be considered for financial aid. Endorsements, second majors, professional development, non-degree, continuing education, credit by exam (competency credit), audited courses, guest students, etc. do not qualify for federal aid but might qualify for private aid.
Students are responsible for payment of summer tuition and on-campus housing charges by the due dates until financial aid is processed and all financial aid requirements are satisfied.  Please allow adequate processing time, generally 5-10 business days.   Please review payment and refund information.
Students expecting financial aid are encouraged to complete all financial aid requirements prior to any due date to avoid late payment penalties.  View information like registration dates, due dates, and other important semester timelines on the Important Dates Calendar.
