Two of Antigone’s brothers have died at each other’s hands in a sudden civil war. One is left unburied, by decree. With her next act, Antigone must choose to obey the king or respond to the tug of family ties. How deeply must she listen to the workings of her soul to know what she must do? Are her impulses that of one young girl or that of a nation? This production was originally performed in Greece in July 2013 as part of Oakland’s Classical Theatre Study in Greece course (THA 482, a theatre capstone).
