U.S. News & World Report recognizes Oakland’s MBA program

Oakland University’s School of Business was named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 edition of Best Graduate Schools in the Part-Time MBA Program specialty.
“Recognition from U.S. News & World Report reaffirms the quality of our MBA program, the impactful contributions from our expert faculty and the success of our students,” says Michael A. Mazzeo, dean and professor of finance, Oakland University School of Business Administration. “Students come to the Oakland MBA program with diverse experiences and knowledge that allows them to take full advantage of a top-notch curriculum while balancing work and life demands.”
The ranking is based on five criteria: average peer assessment scores; average GMAT and GRE scores of part-time MBA students entering fall of 2017; average undergraduate GPA; average number of years of work experience; and the percentage of the total program enrollment that is in the part-time program.
“The bottom line is the Oakland University MBA program prepared me to take on any challenges I would have in my new career,” says Kevin Pratt, MBA ’14, who leveraged his Oakland MBA to change careers from zoologist at the Detroit Zoo to finance at Quicken Loans. “The reality is Oakland business professors were willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was successful.”
Oakland’s graduate programs are also recognized globally. Last year, the London-based CEO Magazine released its 2018 Global MBA Rankings, where it once again recognized Oakland’s MBA as a Tier One institution on its North American MBA Rankings and Oakland’s Executive MBA as a Tier One institution on its Global Executive MBA list.
The School of Business Administration at Oakland University educates nearly 2,500 undergraduate students who are pursuing 12 majors and minors, and nearly 500 graduate students pursuing one of its four master’s degree or 10 post-master’s graduate certificate programs. Its location in Oakland County -- the economic hub of Michigan -- means Oakland University business students take advantage of industry partnerships that provide unique, hands-on career experiences and opportunities.
Named a Best Business School by The Princeton Review, the Oakland University School of Business was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report on its 2018 list of Best Undergraduate Business Programs and is consistently ranked as one of the "Best Value Colleges for Business Majors” in Michigan for both annual return on investment and 20-year return on investment in Payscale's College ROI Report.
