Guidelines for Riders

How to Ride the Bear Bus
  1. To find the current location of the bus you intend to ride, call the bus to ask the driver for an approximate wait time.
  2. Wait at designated stops only. This is for your safety, as well as the safety of our drivers.
  3. Wait to board until the bus has come to a complete stop.
  4. If you are boarding off campus, you will need to present your OUSpiritCard to gain access to the shuttles.  On-campus routes do not require identification.
  5. Move to the rear of the bus after boarding, so as many people as possible may board the bus. Please, no standing on the bus while the bus is in motion!
  6. Once you have arrived to your destination, please check to see that you have all of your personal items (cell phone, backpack, purse, gym or laptop bag, etc.) before leaving the bus.
  7. Do not cross in front of the bus after exiting. Wait until the bus has pulled away from the bus stop and you have a clear field of vision in both directions before crossing the street.
