A Fiction Reading by Alison Espach
4/9/2013, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Attend a fiction reading by author Alison Espach of her published works. Espach received her Master's of Fine Arts degree in fiction from Washington University in St. Louis, where she taught creative writing. Her short fiction has appeared in McSweeney's, Five Chapters, Del Sol Review, and Sentence. She is currently teaching in New York City. "The Adults" is her first novel.

Excerpt from the Wall Street Journal review of her novel:

"The Adults is one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. Ms. Espach's coup is to chart Emily's growth through her maturing sense of humor. The hilarious first chapter features biting adolescent snark (adults, she complains, are 'boring and powerful—saying any boring thing and getting away with it')."

This event is complimentary and open to the Oakland University community and general public. Sponsored by Creative Writing and the Department of English. Light refreshments will be served. Refer to the event flier for further information.
