New Years Resolutions at Work
We spend nearly half our lives at work, so in 2011 we should resolve to make the best of those hours that we are here. Here are some interesting resolutions from the Albany Times Union.
- I resolve to manage my career better and to be more enthusiastic at work
- I resolve to read at least one career development book
- I resolve to improve the balance between my work and my family
- I resolve to stay in touch with my references

If you and your spouse are enrolled in one of the HMOs listed above, remember that each year you must both complete the on-line health risk appraisal and visit your primary care physician to complete the Qualification Form before the end of March 2011 to qualify for the higher level of benefits. Remember, money that is not used by the end of the year will be forfeited.
Disability/FMLA Administrative Change
Beginning this month, we have changed vendors for the administration of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and disability insurance. CIGNA will now be administering both programs. CIGNA is a well respected company that has been in the business of providing benefits for 125 years. Please visit the UHR website at http://www.oakland.edu/upload/docs/UHR/CIGNA%20Brochure.pdf for information about how to report a disability or Family Medical Leave.
If you have any questions about FMLA or disability, please contact the Staff Benefits office at extension 4207 or stop in to see us at 401 Wilson Hall.
