Benefits Corner
Fidelity / TIAA-CREF Advisor Fee Billing Now Available
Beginning January 1, 2010, in addition to the advice service provided by Fidelity and TIAA-CREF, you can now have your retirement assets managed by a qualified investment advisor of your choice.

Investment advisory fees are now recognized as a bona-fide investment expense of the University's retirement 403(b) plan, the voluntary 403(b), and the 457(b) retirement savings plan. Employees who choose to engage a qualified investment advisor for investment advisory services can have the fees for these services deducted directly from their accumulations in any of the above-mentioned plans.

For example, you pay your financial advisor $1,500 per year to manage your investment account(s); you can now request that fee be paid out of your Fidelity or TIAA-CREF account(s) on a pre-taxed basis as long as they meet certain requirements and are for services provided by a qualified investment advisor.

If you are interested in these services or have questions, you should contact your financial advisor, a benefits representative, or contact Fidelity at 1-800-544-6666 or TIAA-CREF at 1-800-842-2776 for additional information.
