The Macomb-OU INCubator is pleased to welcome their newest on-site client company! Microcide Inc. is a Michigan-based technology company, dedicated to the research, development and commercialization of antimicrobial products for households, personal care, health care and food industries. These patented no-rinse surface-sanitizing products are non-toxic, environmentally friendly, EPA and USDA approved, and effective against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. In addition, they can replace presently available carcinogens generating chlorinated, toxic and/or free radical-producing oxidizing agents, as well as cholinesterase-inhibiting quaternary ammonium-based products.

Mac-OU INC is honored to announce its participation in the Detroit Regional Chamber's Startgrid initiative as a launch partner! This exciting new development is a collaborative community for entrepreneurs, bringing people together to test, share and grow ideas that will change the world. Entrepreneurs, investors, advisors and mentors are invited to have discussions, gather feedback, and get advice.
|NEWEST CLIENT BENEFIT: INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD|
The Macomb-OU INCubator has purchased a large interactive whiteboard, available for use by all Mac-OU INC tenants and clients. This is an interactive display in which a computer's desktop is projected onto the board's surface where users can control the computer using a stylus device. Uses may include running software or capturing and saving notes.

Beginning in 2015, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ("Health Care Reform') generally requires certain large employers to pay a tax penalty for every month in which the employer fails to offer substantially all full-time employees and their dependents adequate health coverage that is affordable and provides minimum value, if a full-time employee enrolls in health coverage through a governmental health insurance exchange ("Exchange") and qualifies for a premium tax credit or subsidy ("Play-or-Pay penalties.")

The NDIA Michigan Chapter is offering scholastic scholarships of $1,000 per recipient to competitive high school and college students pursuing education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for the 2014 - 2015 academic year.

A sell-out crowd of nearly 400 gathered in Warren on Feb. 11 for the Home in Macomb Business Awards.
Tom LaSorda, former CEO of Chrysler Corporation and founder of the venture capital firm IncWell, opened the event as the keynote speaker. With more than three decades of experience as a business leader, he encouraged the crowd to keep pushing forward to build their businesses, to nurture their workforces and to elevate their standing within the community.

|GOOGLE GLASS COMPETITION AT OAKLAND UNIVERSITY|
Oakland University students have been invited to become Google Glassware developers by identifying and developing concepts for game-changing technology in the School of Business Administration's Google Glass App Development Team Competition. Through this Glassware competition, teams are challenged to identify a unique-to-Glass app idea and develop it to proof of concept using the Glass Development Kit following the competition guidelines. Mac-OU INC team members look forward to witnessing many innovative ideas as they judge the competition!
