Cathy Rorai currently teaches First Year Writing courses at Oakland, but she has taught writing at a variety of other levels including high school and community college. She enjoys all of the arts and spends her spare time singing with The Metropolitan Detroit Chorale, writing curriculum for the Fraser High School Performing Arts Career Academy, and giving tours of the art of architecture of downtown Detroit to visitors and civic groups.

Students need to see that what we're reading, discussing and writing in class is relevant to their lives on and off campus.
