Biography:

Felicia Chong received both a Bachelor of Arts in professional communication and a Master of Science in technical communication from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, Minn. She taught graphic communication classes as a high school teacher in Minneapolis before pursuing her doctoral degree in rhetoric and technical communication at Michigan Technological University, where she taught college composition, technical communication and digital media. In addition, she was the assistant director for three years on an NSF (National Science Foundation) grant called High School Enterprise, where she collaborated with engineering professors to support high school student teams and teacher-coaches with their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) projects. She has also presented at various regional and national conferences on topics ranging from incorporating international usability and games into technical communication to looking critically at race and body hair in razor commercials. Her current research focuses on usability instruction in technical communication.
