Craig W. Smith has published criticism in The New York Native and Twentieth-Century Literature, and fiction in Christopher Street and Discontents. His doctoral dissertation "Eustace Tilley's Closet: Gay and Lesbian Writers at The New Yorker" (Wayne State University, 2003) is on the topic of the magazine where he worked from 1990-1994. He also teaches cultural/literary theory and writing at Wayne State University.

Teaching Philosophy
College writing provides students with the opportunity to build on the various rhetorical and cultural literacies they bring with them, and to enter the conversation of academic research and professional writing.
