Biography
Kathy Skomski has over 20 years teaching First Year Writers. She is a Teaching Consultant for the Meadow Brook Writing Project and a soon-to-be published author of a chapter on the reading-writing connection for First Year Writers. She is an avid reader of historical fiction and is currently entertaining the idea of writing a short story focused around messages found in horoscopes.

She has been twice nominated for the Excellence in Teaching Award at Oakland University.

Degrees
B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from Oakland University

Kathy Skomski has been teaching at Oakland University since 2000.

She teaches WRT 150 and WRT 160 courses both on the main campus at OU and at the Anton Frankel Center in Mt. Clemens.
Last year, her students created videos that enhanced the many physical, service, and academic attributes of Oakland University.
