Biography

Gary Glaser is a special lecturer in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric. He is currently teaching Workshop in Creative Non-Fiction and Digital Story Telling. Gary earned an M.A in Communication (radio, TV, film), from Wayne State
University in 2001, and worked as a graduate research assistant at University Television. His B.A. is from Oakland University (1974).

Gary began shooting and producing documentaries in 1984 while in Los Angeles. His work has been broadcast on the Discovery Channel, and locally on several PBS stations, as well as CNN and NBC. His work is screened regularly at the Detroit Historical Museum and at Film Festivals.

Awards

Gary Glaser has won three Emmy’s, (two Detroit, one Los Angeles NATAS), a Cine Golden Eagle (CINE), two Bronze Apples (National Educational Film & Video Festival) and a Michigan Association of Broadcasters; Excellence in Broadcasting Award, among others.
