Teaching Philosophy
In my Wrt 102, 150, and 160 classes, I encourage students to actively engage in their writing process by reading interesting essays relating to topics, discussing ideas and issues in a circle of classmates, brainstorming in small peer groups, working on assignments with a partner, and conferencing one on one with me about revising papers to improve grades. My goal is to create a community of writers who work cooperatively to help each other "grow" their papers rather than compete for grades. I want my classroom to be a challenging yet nurturing environment for student learning and writing.

Teaching at OU since 1988.
