Women of OU

Welcome to the Women of Oakland University

For more than 30 years, the Women of Oakland University organization has looked to support the university by building a spirit of community and providing service to the university and beyond.

One of the group's most important contributions has been the endowed Critical Difference Scholarship. Supported through participation in the All-University Fund Drive, the scholarship is awarded to single, female or male heads-of-household (as defined by IRS tax code) whose education was interrupted for a period of at least one year.

The Women of Oakland University host a number of events throughout the year to raise funds for the Critical Difference Scholarship:

Fashion Show and Luncheon:

This fun event features a diverse group of models ranging from former Critical Difference Scholarship recipients to University Vice Presidents, modeling the season's fashions from Carson's of The Village of Rochester Hills.

In addition to the show, there are a number of opportunities to bid on silent auction packages that include OU swag, signed sports memorabilia and more!

Event proceeds are used to fund future Critical Difference Scholarships. The next event is being planned for spring of 2015.

If you are interested in modeling for this year's event, please email Rhonda Saunders at  saunders@oakland.edu.

Golden Grizzlies Girls Night Out:
This women's basketball event features a reception with refreshments and giveaways, special entertainment and more.

Other Events:

The Women of Oakland University participate in a number of events throughout the year, such as Carson's Community Day and the OU Art, Book & Gift Fair, as they raise funds for the Critical Difference Scholarship.
