OU students present at the Fall 2012 Meeting of the Ohio Region Section of the APS

Several OU students presented their research at the 2012 Fall Meeting of the Ohio Region Section of the American Physical Society, held October 5-6 at Wayne State University in Detroit.

Natalya Melkus presented about a “Comparison of Mechanism of Break Up and Cycle Length in Defibrillation Success”. Natalya recently graduated from OU Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Biology. She performed her research under the direction of Lecturer Steffan Puwal in the Department of Physics.
Sunil Kandel, who is a graduate student in the Biomedical Sciences: Medical Physics PhD program, displayed a poster about “The Dip in the Anodal Strength-Interval Curve in Cardiac Tissue.” Kandel works with CBR member Brad Roth, of the Department of Physics.
Blair Vidakovich, an undergraduate Biology major, was coauthor on a poser about “Cell Adhesion Modification of Streptococcus viridians in the Presence of Xylitol.” Blair collaborated with researchers from Wayne State University and Oakland Community College.
Fabio Sanches was lead author on a presentation about “Patterning of Heteroepitaxial Overlayers from Nano to Micron Scales.” Fabio is an undergraduate physics major working with Prof. Ken Elder of the Department of Physics.
