New online system eases registration for Rec Center activities

The Oakland University Recreational Center has implemented a new online registration system for students, faculty and staff who are actively involved in the Rec Center and its activities.
Designed as a convenience tool for individuals who choose to use the Rec Center and all of its resources, this program is offered to current students, faculty and staff who are benefit eligible, and affiliates of Oakland University with paid membership.
“Everyone is so mobile these days,” said Todd Welscott, assistant director of facility and aquatic operations. “It just seemed right to create a program where in the few minutes before an academic class starts, you could go online and have the opportunity to sign up for a class in the Rec Center.”
Through this new system, individuals can sign up for group exercise classes, CPR training, or intramural sports, in addition to various events hosted by the Rec Center.
To obtain a paid membership to the Recreation Center, non-benefit eligible employees and individuals must verify, in person, an affiliation to OU. Students and benefit eligible employees have automatic access and are not required to verify in person, however they will need to request a login online.
Once verified, participants will qualify for an online account. Once the online account is requested allow a few business days for login information to be sent.
The Rec Center requests that all candidates for this online program be actively involved or interested in using the facilities and its offerings. The real benefit of this new program is for those who are active participants.
