OU social work organization to collect, donate school supplies
Starting Friday, Aug. 31, Oakland University’s Social Work Community Outreach program will hold a school supply drive to benefit local elementary and middle school students. The group will distribute flyers and set up collection boxes in the Oakland Center seeking donations of various items, including writing and art utensils, notebooks, folders, backpacks and more.

Materials will be collected by Friday, Sept. 15, but the group will accept donations past the deadline. The group also welcomes donations from the general public and can be contacted via e-mail at socialworkco@gmail.com. Contributions will support students at Greenfield Union Elementary-Middle School in Detroit.
