Providing community service is one of the core values of Oakland University, which offers a wide variety of services and resources to assist businesses in Southeast Michigan achieve their goals and objectives.  One key business objective is providing a safe and healthy work environment.  On Thursday, September 27, 2012 business leaders and Safety Directors throughout Southeast Michigan are being invited to attend a half-day seminar at Oakland University which will focus on the importance of leadership actions in creating a safe and healthy workplace.  Attendees will see first-hand how a world class health and safety program can result in lower costs, higher quality, improved on-time delivery and more loyal and dedicated employees.

 

Seminar Goals and Objectives: 

  • Provide leadership with tools (ways, means and methods) to achieve a high performance safety program
  • Illustrate and discuss the importance of leadership actions in a world class safety and health program. 
  • Demonstrate the importance of achieving a world class safety and health program in an increasingly smaller world. 
  • Show how to align a safety and health program with business goals.
  • Demonstrate how Oakland University can provide training, counseling, and other services in assisting businesses in achieving their goals.

 

Speakers are experienced key business leaders from companies based in SE Michigan and beyond, including General Motors, ABB Group, URS, DuPont and Schneider Electric.

 

The seminar is a great opportunity to learn how leaders can create a work environment that encourages your employees to work safely and efficiently.  Following lunch, participants will tour our state-of-the-art facilities and learn how OU connects with and supports the business community.
