Corporate and Foundation Relations launches new website
By Samantha Skovran, media relations assistant

Oakland University’s Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) department launched a new website this July, allowing the department to connect potential partners with deans, faculty and staff.

"CFR is a key component of Oakland’s overall fundraising strategy,” said Eric Barritt, vice president for Development, Alumni and Community Engagement. “This website is intended to serve our internal faculty and staff audiences, as well as corporations and foundations interested in engaging with our academic units, student services or other areas of the university.”

CFR is a gateway for companies who want to partner with, or offer their support to Oakland.  The department is a place of connection where external partners are matched with appropriate departments and research.

The new website allows for partners and potential partners to get easier access to the information they need, as well as the opportunity to be recognized for their generosity. Companies are spotlighted on the department’s homepage quarterly to show their support and dedication to the OU community.

Additionally, the site serves as a guidance tool for faculty and staff who are looking for external support for initiatives and research.

“There are numerous exciting initiatives and research programs taking place across OU's campus,” said Kristy Mitchell, CFR associate director. “This new site features strategic funding plans, grant writing tips and information about potential funding sources.”

“The CFR office is part of our effort to ensure that Oakland continues to grow and offer quality educational experiences for our students.”

Development, Alumni and Community Engagement fosters lifelong relationships that encourage alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to share their resources of time, talents and financial support to advance the mission of Oakland University. Departments within the division include planned giving, annual giving, development and alumni engagement.
