Meadow Brook Theatre awarded $143,400 grant
Meadow Brook Theatre, Oakland University's professional theatre, recently was awarded an Anchor Organization Program grant of $143,400 from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA).
"We are gratified to once again receive a major grant from MCACA," said Gregg Bloomfield, managing director of Meadow Brook Theatre. "The rigorous peer review process resulted in Meadow Brook Theatre's continued recognition as Michigan's largest producing professional theatre."
With an annual budget of $3 million, Meadow Brook Theatre was one of 24 statewide arts and culture organizations with annual budgets exceeding $1.5 million to receive Anchor Organization grants for the state's current fiscal year.
Celebrating it's 35th anniversary as Oakland University's resident theatre, Meadow Brook Theatre produces seven plays each season for a total attendance of nearly 100,000, including over 15,000 elementary, middle school and high school students. The theatre operates under contract with Actors' Equity Association and is the only Michigan member of the prestigious League of Resident Theatres.
