Congratulations to science teacher and MBWP TC Laura Amatulli of the Avondale Meadows Upper Elementary School. This summer Laura was named one of the second-place winners of a $7500 DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund for "Closing the Technology Gap in Education."

Congratulations also go out to Summer Institute Fellow and MBWP Teacher Consultant, Cornelia Pokrzywa who was awarded one of the Conference on College Composition and Communication’s (CCCC) Professional Equity Project Grants to support her attendance at the 2009 CCCC in San Francisco this spring.

The first Summer Institute Podcast, This Writing Project Life, has been posted on the MBWP website: The podcast features essays by Laura Gabrion, Rebecca Rivard, and Cornelia Pokrzywa.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 Invitational Summer Institute, which will run from July 6 to July 31.
