OU to host viewing of “Constantine’s Sword”
The Oakland University Christianity Studies program will host a viewing and panel discussion of “Constantine’s Sword,” the Oscar-nominated documentary exploring issues of Christianity and anti-Semitism on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 7-9 p.m. in 206 Varner Hall.

Crafted by James Carroll and Oren Jacoby, the film has received critical acclaim for its intense probe into the history of Christianity dating back to Constantine, the Roman Emperor who legalized Christian worship in 313 A.D. The film explores Christianity’s long struggle since then to balance the forces of toleration and zealotry.

The panel discussion will be held following the film. Participants are Charles Mabee, director of religious studies and R. John Kinkel, professor of religious studies and author of the book "Cinderella Church: The Story of Early Christianity."

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact R. John Kinkel at (586) 945-8013 or kinkel@oakland.edu.
