The OU community will welcome Dr. Drew Pinsky on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms. Popularly known as “Dr. Drew,” Pinsky is the host of the nationally-syndicated radio call-in show, “Loveline,” which is heard on more than 100 radio stations across the country. He also stars on the VH1 program “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,” a reality television show dedicated to helping public figures overcome drug and alcohol additions.

Pinsky is a practicing American board-certified internist and addiction medicine specialist who has provided practical advice on relationships and healthy living throughout his career. In 2005, he hosted the Discovery Health Channel’s “Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew” as well as “Lance Armstrong: Stories of Survival,” an hour long special chronicling the Tour de France champion’s triumphant resurgence following a public battle with testicular cancer.

In addition to his radio and television career, Pinsky currently serves as the medical director for the Department of Chemical Dependency Services at Las Encinas Hospital and a staff member at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif. He is also an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.

This event is co-sponsored by the Student Life Lecture Board, Student Program Board and the Division of Student Affairs. The event is free and no tickets are required. For more information, contact the Center for Student Activities at (248) 370-2400.
