Oakland University’s Images Dance Team will perform at downtown Rochester’s Dancin’ in the Street event.

Oakland University’s Images Dance Team will perform at downtown Rochester’s Dancin’ in the Street event, Friday, Aug.10 at 6:30 p.m.

The event, which features music, dancing and food, is held on West Fourth Street, between Main and Walnut, on Friday, Aug. 10 from 6–10 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007 from noon–10 p.m.

Images Dance Team performs at all OU men’s and women’s home basketball games, and performs at select soccer, volleyball and hockey games. Over the past seven years the team has consistently ranked top ten in the national dance team competition.

“Dancin in the Streets is an amazing event that showcases all the local talent we have to offer in the community,” said Teri Cherian, head coach. “It allows my team an opportunity to represent Oakland University Athletics and also gives the audience a taste of the collegiate performance they can see at our basketball events.”

Rochester is Oakland University’s hometown, and the university and the City of Rochester partner on a variety of reciprocal business and academic ventures as part of a formal partnership signed in 2003.
