Lorraine Richardson works on new teacher initiative
Lorraine Richardson, who recently retired after a distinguished career as a teacher and resource administrator in the Detroit schools, is working with the MBWP on developing a plan for retaining new teachers in the Detroit School District through institutes, workshops, web connections, and mentoring.

We hope eventually to connect this work to a new program being organized by the National Writing Project called the New Teacher Initiative, which is focusing its attention first on urban school districts.

Lorraine (along with Mary Cox) is a fellow of the former Detroit Writing Project, and we are looking for other alumni of that project in order to incorporate them into the fellowship of the MBWP. If you know of any, please let us know.
