Debatosh Debnath is recognized for his role as a representative and advocate of the School of Engineering and Computer Science on the university-wide committee for General Education. He was instrumental in fashioning new general education courses under the new general education requirements. To achieve successful approval of the general education courses proposed by SECS, he worked tirelessly with the faculty in the school and with the members of the general education committee from various units on campus.
He also is recognized for providing an outstanding leadership in organizing regular research seminars within the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. It is primarily through his efforts that the department has been running regular seminars for the last few years. This has led to better interaction among the faculty and increased research and funding productivity.
