As chair of the General Education Committee, Dagmar Cronn was the driving force behind the rapid and successful implementation of the new general education program. Under her leadership, multitudes of courses were reviewed and approved as meeting the specific outcomes associated with knowledge foundations, knowledge explorations, and knowledge integration. During this same time period she took on the directorship of the program in Environmental Health. Cronn established an advisory council composed of faculty from across campus and practitioners from the community to assist her in restructuring this program. She devoted most of her recent sabbatical activity to self-study associated with this long-standing interdisciplinary program and upcoming plans include a name change to Program in Environmental Studies. In the Department of Chemistry, she has served for many years as Chief Advisor and she has done an impressive job of modernizing and streamlining the advising operations, as well as providing outstanding advice to students.
