Oakland University adds two new majorsOakland University is now offering two new bachelor’s degree programs: studio art with a specialization in new media, and secondary teacher education in K-12 studio art. This brings Oakland’s total number of undergraduate degree programs to 116.
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in studio art with a specialization in new media focuses on art utilizing video, digital imaging and the Web.
The secondary teacher education program (STEP) in K-12 studio art provides a broad-based BA in studio art with certification to teach studio art to grades K-12. The STEP program includes 14 weeks of student teaching and takes five years to complete.

In addition to its 116 bachelor’s degree programs, Oakland University offers 90 graduate and certificate programs.
