Memorial planned for former OU administrator

A memorial is planned for Friday, March 10, at 6 p.m. in the Oakland Center Oakland Room to honor the memory of Manuel Pierson, a former Oakland University administrator who died Monday, Feb. 13, from kidney and liver failure.
Pierson came to OU in 1965 and served as the dean of student services and assistant vice president before retiring in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, retired Wayne Circuit Court Judge Lucile Watts; three sons, Dudley, David and Daryl; a daughter, Donna Chavous; an adopted son, Aaron; and many grandchildren.
